A well-known industry expert with over 30 years of experience in the transportation & logistics industry, Andre was the founding Chairman/Managing Director of Expeditors Lanka Private Limited. He joined MAC Holdings (Private) Limited in 2003 upon leaving Expeditors in 2002. He is the immediate past Chairman & a member of the executive board of the Sri Lanka Logistics Providers Association. He served as an executive committee member of Sri Lanka Logistics & Freight Forwarders Association in the late nineties and is currently the Vice Chairman of the association. In 2023 he was appointed to the technical committee to assist the policy committee on Formulation of Logistics Development Programme to Develop a Comprehensive and Sustainable Logistics Development Programme for Sri Lanka. He is a past Chairman of the ECCSL Market Access Team (MAT) Tourism committee.

Mr. Andre Fernando was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in March 2021. He is also a member of the Logistics Advisory Committee of the Export Development Board and is the Chairman of the Ports & Aviation Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. He is the Vice President of the Sri Lanka France Business Council and Vice President of Sri Lanka Nordic Business Council also holds office in many business councils’ executive committees. He is the president of the Sri Lanka Bangladesh Co-operation Business Council. His family owns 100% shares of the parent company “MAC Holdings Private Limited” which has three majority owned JVs, four associates with ten fully owned subsidiaries. She read her law degree at Kings College London (2003) and is admitted to practice in two jurisdictions with professional certifications as Solicitor of England & Wales (2007) and Attorney-at-law Sri Lanka (2015).

She has been employed in different countries including Sri Lanka, Australia, UK and UAE with a mix of private practice and inhouse experience. She has been employed in the aviation industry for 6 years as Group Legal Affairs Manager at SriLankan Airlines Ltd and Legal Counsel at Emirates Flight Catering. She has considerable knowledge of both local and international aviation disputes relating to liquidations, aircraft incidents, cargo/passenger claims, airline sales and ticketing disputes, insurance recovery matters and industrial relations. During her tenure in the aviation industry, she was also involved in a few cross-border M&A and joint venture transactions, aviation regulatory matters, ecommerce agreements, airline leasing, corporate governance and compliance matters applicable to public enterprises under the Right to Information Act.

She has acted for both employer and contractor in the context of complex construction disputes in both UAE and Sri Lanka.
