In 1981, the Sri Lanka Logistics & Freight Forwarders Association (SLFFA) was established with the aim of unifying all freight forwarders and logistics service providers, intending to formalize and enhance the industry. Today, both the government, relevant government bodies, and industry stakeholders recognize SLFFA as the preeminent authority representing the sector. SLFFA currently has a membership of over 150 leading freight forwarding and logistics companies, along with two affiliated members, namely the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) and the Association of Clearing Forwarding Agents (ACFA).
In pursuit of these objectives, SLFFA has actively participated in the development of a comprehensive shipping policy for Sri Lanka and the formulation of a National Civil Aviation Development Plan. The association is also dedicated to elevating industry standards and making the Sri Lankan freight forwarding and logistics sector more agile and responsive.
