Colombo, Sri Lanka – September 10, 2025 — In a significant endorsement of his continued leadership and contribution to the logistics industry, Mr. Andre Fernando, Managing Director of MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, has been reappointed as Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freight Forwarders Association (SLFFA) for a third consecutive term. The announcement was made during the Association’s 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Colombo earlier this month.
Mr. Fernando’s reappointment comes as no surprise to industry insiders, given his proven track record in promoting innovation, sustainability, and collaborative growth within Sri Lanka’s freight forwarding and logistics sector. Under his vice-chairmanship, SLFFA has strengthened its position as a key stakeholder in national and regional trade facilitation.
As Vice Chairman, Mr. Fernando has consistently advocated for higher standards of professionalism, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation in logistics operations. His ongoing efforts have played a critical role in enhancing the industry’s resilience during challenging periods such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the global supply chain disruptions that followed.
The AGM highlighted key initiatives and achievements of SLFFA over the past year, including policy advocacy, capacity-building programs, and stakeholder engagement with government and international trade bodies. Mr. Fernando reaffirmed his commitment to furthering these initiatives, noting that the next phase of development for the logistics industry would depend on strategic partnerships, youth engagement, and technology adoption.
Mr. Fernando’s continued presence in SLFFA’s leadership is seen as a strategic asset as the Association looks to strengthen its regional and international ties, particularly at a time when logistics efficiency and supply chain resilience are top priorities for both public and private sectors.
