Now, more than ever, we need sustainable green initiatives. That is why we at MAC, began the project in attempts to undo deforestation, by reforesting, that is, to replant and give back to the environment ten-fold, of what we take.
MAC continues its drive to provide the best in terms of environmental sustainability and planetary resource conservation, by further green efforts of harvesting rain water which is then used in landscape irrigation.
A firm believer in Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R), we here at MAC recognize that food scraps and yard waste make up 20-30 percent of what humans throw away. Instead, we further our efforts by employing recycling and composting mechanisms, which serve to keep this waste out of landfills, thereby reducing harmful greenhouse gasses.
In a new pilot project, MAC took to the Colombo suburbs, to install solar powered street lighting, in attempts to educate the general public to the feasibility of renewable power such as solar energy. Through projects like this, we hope to address the fast growing concerns of energy scarcity, by replacing it with more sustainable initiatives
