The Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council, under the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, has emphasised the immense potential for Sri Lankan companies in the Maldivian market. Key sectors include logistics, tourism, agriculture, boat construction, fisheries, and construction.
A comprehensive report, developed through discussions with prominent Maldivian ministries and stakeholders, was recently presented to Export Development Board Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe and Maldives High Commissioner Masood Imad. Notably, the Maldives offers special concessions, such as a 50% tax discount for small boat operations, further incentivising trade and investment.
